PRAYING FOR
OUR NATION Pray for the families
and friends of those who have been injured or killed in this
calamity.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our troubles (2 Corinthians 1:3).
...weep with those who weep (Romans 12:15).
When anxiety was great within me, your consolation
brought joy to my soul (Psalm 94:19).
Pray for our
leaders.
Listen now to my voice; I will
give you counsel, and God will be with you: Stand before God for
the people, so that you may bring the difficulties to God (Exodus 18:19).
They would be filled with the Spirit of God, with skill,
ability and knowledge. (See Exodus 31:3.)
Give our leaders skill and ability to know how to carry our all
the work. (See Exodus 36:1.)
God give our leaders wisdom and very great insight, and breadth
of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore.
(See 1 Kings 4:29.)
God grant that the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon them
– the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel
and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.
(See Isaiah 11:2.)
Pray for emergency
workers (doctor’s, nurses, paramedics, EMS, FBI, police etc.).
That they
would have endurance, so they can do the will of God.
(See Hebrews 10:36.)
The Holy Spirit will come to their aid and bear them up in
their weakness. (See Romans 8:26.)
God would strengthen them with power through His Spirit
in their inner being. (See Ephesians 3:16.)
Quicken their bodies according to His Word.
(See Psalm 119:25.)
Pray for our nation.
The Lord is
with us and shows us mercy and loving-kindness and gives us favor.
(See Genesis 40:21.)
If my people who are called by my name, will humble
themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked
ways, then will I hear from and will forgive their sin and will
heal their land (2 Chron. 7:14).
Blessed is he whose hope is in the Lord (Psalm
146:5).
Pray for
revival.
Pray that
God would use this to perform many signs and wonders among the
people so that believers will be added to the Lord,
multitudes both of men and women. (See Acts 5:12.)
Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous
signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus
(Acts 4:30).
Pray against fear.
Do not be
afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He
will accomplish for you today. (See Exodus 14:13.)
Have no fear of sudden disaster. . . for the Lord will
be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared
(Proverbs 3:25).
You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies
by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness nor the
plague that destroys at midday (Psalm 91: 5,6).
Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble
knees. Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not
fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the
recompense of God; He will come and save you.” (Isaiah 35:3).
Pray for safety.
God grant
that we will dwell in safety with confidence…and know that
you are the Lord our God. (See Ezekiel 28:26.)
But when you cross over the Jordan and dwell in the
land which the LORD your God is giving you to inherit, and He
gives you rest from all your enemies round about, so that you
dwell in safety (Deuteronomy 12:10).
Remember your
authority in Christ.
This is
clearly an attack from the enemy because God is not the author
of confusion but of peace. (See 1 Corinthians 14:33.)
The Bible is clear that we have an enemy. Ephesians 6:12 says,
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness
of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly
places.
Remember that we have the victory. “Behold, I give you the
authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the
power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you
(Luke 10:18-19).
Remember
the power of the God we serve.
Do not
magnify the circumstances, but magnify God in the midst of the
circumstances.
I
will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in
whom I trust."
Psalm 91:2
